The Sign Of Success
As they say, the show must go on. Despite the close call, the band kept busy, releasing ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ and shortly after ‘Killer Queen’. The latter was written by Freddie himself. The song took off, becoming a number two hit on the Uk charts and a massive hit in the US as well. However, even though their growing success, the band saw no income from their music. In fact, they were penniless and in debt as they were using a management company in order to sell their music to record companies. The band decided it was time to start fighting back.
A Night At The Opera
Queen decided to finally hire a new manager. Not just any manager, but Elton John’s manager, John Reid. They refused to create any new music until they were able to eat the fruit of their labors. The band built a great relationship with Reid. All the while, the band was still in debt, and everything they had was riding on their new album, ‘A Night at the Opera’. If this album didn’t do well, the band wouldn’t be able to continue on their musical path. Thankfully, that isn’t what ended up happening.
