As it turns out, the band had a big following in South America, especially in Argentina. The band’s producers asked whether they would like to play at a soccer stadium in Buenos Aires one day. The band was skeptical at first, wondering if they were popular enough to fill up an entire soccer stadium. They were also hesitant about visiting a country that was under a dictatorship still. In the end, the band agreed to go. They spoke with the country’s General of the Army who had some reservations about having a concert that would hold over 50,000 people in one place. He feared that the crowd would become unruly with so many people present, but the band wanted to take the chance and go through with it.

Next thing they knew, they were en route to Buenos Aires in 1981, about to give their biggest performance ever. They performed for a massive audience as the entire stadium was filled with 100,000 people. Freddie thrived in large arenas. He carried his typical microphone stick and performed in both Argentina and Brazil. One they returned from their successful trip, they felt like nothing could stop them at that point. They went to Montreal in Canada to record in a high-end music production studio.
