Joran’s Story
After one year, Joran van der Sloot followed suit and published a book of his own. It was called “De zaak Natalee Holloway”, which translate to “The Case of Natalee Holloway”. It recounted Natalee’s disappearance as well as his time in jail. Throughout the book, he firmly insisted on his innocence.
Wever: New Suspect
We’re now to the date of May 17, 2006, and a new suspect is located. In the Netherlands, Guido Wever, the child of an Aruban politician, is detained on the grounds of suspicion of being an accomplice in the battering, abducting, and killing of Natalee Holloway. For six days, Wever is questioned in Utrecht. Initially, the Aruban authorities tried to get him transferred to the island for questioning, but that didn’t happen. Instead, he was released by some agreement made per Wever’s attorney and the prosecutor.
