According to Nancy Grace, the gardener was “the man whose testimony cracks the case wide open”. The police acted on his tip and searched the pond. They also asked him plenty of questions regarding his testimony. Sadly, their efforts revealed nothing that would help them find Natalee.

After a year had passed since the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, the police still had yet to figure out her whereabouts. Meanwhile, Joran had been going on a media tour to protest his innocence. His story changed another time when he went “On the Record” on March 1, 2006. In the interview, he said he took Natalee to the beach the same night she vanished. Moreover, he explained that he left her there, refuting his original claim that he and his friends dropped her off at their hotel.
