“This latest story [came] when [Van der Sloot] saw the other guys, the Kalpoes, were kind of finger-pointing in his direction, and he wanted to screw them also, by saying he was dropped off. But that story doesn’t check out at all. He just wanted to screw Deepak,” explained Police Commissioner Gerold Dompig. He did not believe the new version of the story. He adds, “They had great arguments about this in front of the judge. Because their stories didn’t match. This girl, she was from Alabama, she’s not going to stay in the car with two black kids. We believe the second story, that they were dropped off by the Marriott.”

The Jogger
After the whole fuzz with “the gardener”, another individual stepped forward with new information. “The jogger” said he saw several men burying a blonde woman in a landfill on the afternoon of May 30. This tip prompted the police to look through the landfill a total of three more times. The FBI even used cadaver dogs to aid the search, though they did not come up with anything.
