Well, she was a full-grown moose so Plucas tried to console himself with the thought that she could fend for herself. His worrying persisted. He recalled those times, saying, “I remember those first nights she didn’t come home…Oh, I barely slept. But she grew up, I had to get over it. After all, it was my goal from the very beginning.”

The First Surprise
It was right when Plucas gave up and accepted that Emma left for good that she made an appearance! Lucky for Plucas, this was not the last visit from his friend. Before he knew it, Emma made it a daily visit. Clearly, Emma was grown up and could handle things in the forest alone now. Each time she visited, Plucas really made it count.
