Hiding From Hunters
To Plucas, it seemed that hunters killed this calf’s mother, and the poor baby ran for shelter. Perhaps, that was when this calf found his farm and didn’t have the strength to continue any further. Besides her exhaustion, this calf had an injury. It truly moved him to see this and he told The Dodo, “The first sight of her was heartbreaking.”

With no one to protect her, Plucas took action. Besides being injured, this young calf was terrified and extremely vulnerable. Thus, he took it upon himself to care for her before any predators came for her.
