Despite this wild animal not being clean or healthy, Plucas acted on impulse. He explained, “She was starved, dirty, sad, and her fur was infested with flies.” Thus, he just scooped her up and brought her into his home, but he had no clue everything he was getting himself into!

At a loss of what to do next, Plucas phoned some of his close friends. He was hoping for helpful feedback, but that’s not quite what he got from them. Mostly, his friends reacted very negatively. They questioned why he would have brought the calf home, saying things like, “It is illegal, you should not do it. Let nature take care of it.”
