Elton John and Leon Russell – The Union (2010)
This was Elton John’s first studio release since his Victim Of Love album (1979). It was his highest studio album on the Billboard 200 since 1976! The album is amazing and features other artists including Booker T. Jones and Brian Wilson. One song, “If It Wasn’t For Bad” was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. The song, “Hey Ahab” is now a regular when Elton John performs live.
Jay-Z And Kanye West – Watch The Throne (2011)
This has to be one of the most star-studded collabs in music history! The record and tour were totally iconic. Some songs such as “No Church in The Wild,” and “Niggas In Paris” are regulars for both artists now and are still in rotation on the radio. The entire album is amazing, and the lyrics are incredibly smart. The tour was extremely successful and is actually one of the highest grossing hip-hop tours in history!
