That same day, Becca told her father she intended to join the Queen Creek football team as a kicker. As a natural-born athlete with a competitive nature, her father was by no means surprised. Becca challenging herself in a new way was as normal as the sun rising each morning. As Becca told ESPN, nothing could stand in the way of her dreams, her willpower and unstoppable drive to succeed was unmatched. “I think it’s just something inside of me. I don’t always have to prove myself — but I always want to.” This exact unbreakable mindset is what will propel Becca to follow her dream.

From Fantasy To Reality

A week or so after her decision to pursue her dream, Becca and her parents drove to Gilbert Christian High School, which was about 20 minutes away from Queen Creek, to attend a kicking camp hosted by the Arizona Cardinals. While she hadn’t had training for it, Becca dove right into a sport she had never played in a camp full of the best kickers in Arizona. With multiple National Football League punters and kickers in the camp, they watched the performances of the high school kickers closely. The pressure may not have been high, but all eyes on her, and still, Becca came through. In fact, it was exactly the kind of environment where Becca thrived.
