A Warm Welcome
Speaking with USA Today, Becca said, “Everybody was just so warm and welcoming”. At the end of the day, Becca still had to prove her worth by making all her kicks count. College is a whole different atmosphere than high school, with heightened expectations and tougher competition. “She’s kind of put herself out there to let everyone know she wants to do this,” Rosenbach said to CNN, “If she’s able to compete at a level we think she’s able to compete at, we should afford her that opportunity to do that.”
A New Beginning
Becca’s sophomore year was a clean slate, unlike her freshman year. She worked hard to get to where she is today and is ready to kick when they call out her name. These days Becca and kicker Erick Ruiz battle weekly to determine which of them gets the start. Even though Becca wasn’t slated to start the first week, she keeps an optimistic mindset, knowing it’s only a matter of time before her name is called.
