After Becca visited the Grizzlies spring practice in April 2018, Rosenbach told Bleacher Report “Becca is a football player. That’s it”. That statement was the end of the discussion, as they wanted to move forward and focus on football, which is why Becca had joined the team in the first place. “You will treat her like any other teammate and welcome her on to our team.” They instructed the team to focus only on the football, no distractions.

Adjusting To College Life

Becca had seamlessly transitioned to college life at Adams State. She was signed on to be a two-sport athlete (basketball and football). The difference here was that in college, she wasn’t an outsider or just a girl, she was just a player, like everyone else. All she wanted was to make her team better by putting in the work. She got no preferential treatment and no extra attention. Jorge Hernandez, senior quarterback, said to ESPN, “She gets after it just like all of us. She’s not just here to be on the team. She’s here to play.”
