Lobster Barrel
Besides being the beloved Skipper, Alan Hale Jr. also owned and ran the restaurant, “Alan Hale’s Lobster Barrel” in Los Angeles. Actually, he did incorporate his character by dressing up as the Skipper to greet guests. After running successfully for 15 years, things started to go south. Thus, he shut down his restaurant and began a travel agency. Hale ran the agency until he passed away in 1990.

Turns out, they picked the name for Bob Denver’s character by randomly selecting a name from a phone book.
