Well, That’s Rude
We briefly mentioned this earlier, but anyway during the original Gilligan’s Island theme song/opening, both the Professor and Mary Ann were called, ‘the rest.’ Luckily, they changed it for the next seasons. So, in both season two and three, the theme song was updated and they were named as Mary Ann and the Professor.

Professor’s Backstory
Naturally, all of the Gilligan’s Island needed a bit of backstory. Firstly, people wanted to hear how they each ended up on the island. So, for the Professor, this scholar was on a relaxing three hour boat tour. Actually, he went on the trip in order to get some relaxation before writing his book, which was to be called Fun with Ferns.
