Okay, what was the real reason that Gilligan’s Island had to end after only three delightful seasons? Well, CBS had just redone their lineup for the year and felt they needed to cut the show. At the time, Gilligan’s Island didn’t have the best ratings. Therefore, the network first thought it could succeed in a less expensive time slot. Yet, the executives opted to cut it altogether once they picked up the show, Gunsmoke.

Early in 2016, the famous singer/songwriter David Bowie died. Why are we telling you this? Well, at that same time somehow the hashtag, #RipBobDenver also became a trending topic. Fans began outpouring their love and adoration for the late star of Gilligan’s Island. However, this was very odd considering Bob Denver died about ten years before!
