Stone Circles

Like some other historical discoveries, these stone circles were first spotted from the air in the Middle East. Experts believe that the stones, which are only a few feet high, date back to about 2,000 years ago. Strangely, the stones completely cordon off the circles which means that a person would have to climb over them to reach the inner section.

Desert Kites

Was this some kind of ancient hunting method? Did it work? Well those were only some of the questions that were raised by British pilots while they flew over the deserts of Israel, Jordan and Egypt in the early 20th century. The “kite lines” as they called them, were constructed around 2,300 years ago and were probably used to trap animals en mass in the region.
