The Pilate Stone
Caesarea, Israel became the ground where the Pilate Stone was discovered during an excavation. On the stone was an inscription that mentioned Pontius Pilate who was the head of the Roman province of Judea under Emperor Tiberius. Before this discovery, the only evidence of Pilate’s existence was in biblical texts which raised many question marks, but this evidence dispelled those doubts.
Andrewsarchus
In 1923, a large skull was discovered in Mongolia. It came from an unknown animal that is believed to have roamed the Earth during the middle Eocene epoch, about 41 to 48 million years ago. This skull is the only skull that has been brought to surface. The Andrewsarchus has been named the largest known terrestrial mammalian carnivore.
