Crawford was a film and television actress, who was ranked in 1999 by the American Film Institute, tenth on the greatest female stars of Classic Hollywood Cinema. Just before her death, she yelled at her housekeeper, who was praying as Crawford died. Crawford said, “Damn it! Don’t you dare ask God to help me!”
