Just before her death, she yelled at her housekeeper, who was praying as Crawford died. Crawford said, “Damn it! Don’t you dare ask God to help me!”

Emily Dickinson was an American poet from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, who is now regarded as one of the most significant of all American poets. In 1886, Dickinson passed away and her last words were, “I must go in, for the fog is rising.”
