When he woke up, he could not find his jacket, so he had to borrow his roommate’s. He got to the snowboarding event just in time to complete an amazing run! With tons of extra points for style, he won America’s first gold at the games, making him the youngest winner at the 2018 games. What’s even better is that when they announced his score, he cursed on live TV! No wonder the internet is obsessed with him.

Adam Rippon won the internet’s heart as the first openly gay Olympian at the 2018 Winter Games. Due to his amazing ice skating performances and his bold and enrapturing personality, Rippon quickly became a fan favorite. Celebrities on Twitter, such as Sally Fields, Zach Braff and Reese Witherspoon, reached out and congratulated the Olympian on his bravery. He also spoke out against Vice President Mike Pence and his anti-gay stance, even refusing to attend the post-Olympic celebration at the White House. He was also frequently spotted with fellow gay Olympian Gus Kenworthy.
