Many Stepped In To Help
The GoFundMe page which Angela set up gained traction and many signed on to donate. She initially thought that she would get contributions from other community members, but the page actually reached generous people outside their Minnesota town. She told USA Today, “We got donations from as far as Australia!” Her goal was to raise $35,000 and in just two months, it was almost entirely met, with a total of $32,000 in donations from around 765 people who wanted to help Lee move to a safe place.
What Was Next?
Since she now had the donation money, Angela was ready to do the next thing in finding Lee a safe home. After doing some searching, she found a trailer in their local community which was not only in good condition but would also fit Lee’s housing needs. Generous neighbors in the Minnesota community once again pitched in to help add furniture to Lee’s new place and make the trailer move-in ready. Angela delivered pizzas to Lee and now, she was delivering a new home to the older man!
