The Officer’s Promise
The unnamed police officer told Klynn he was going to protect her and every day, he drove by Klynn’s house to ensure she was safe. Now an adult herself, Klynn explained, “Through all the bad situations, I would just picture him saying that he was here for us.” His dedication helped Klynn deal with even her darkest times, and she added, “Those words would come to me during the worst times of my childhood life.” It wasn’t long until the promise would be fulfilled, which proved to Klynn that there is still good in this world.

A Troubling Warning Sign
Young Klynn Scales quickly became attached to her new pal, “He was the one person that I trusted in my life as a kid.” Greeting him every day was something she loved doing, and he also loved waving back. One day, however, she didn’t show up in order to greet him, so he knew there was something wrong. Their greeting was a routine, and considering Klynn’s neighborhood and the responsibilities that she had as her brother’s “mother,” it was definitely a troubling warning sign when she missed her daily greeting.
