Janice Rand – Grace Lee Whitney
Whitney appeared in eight of the first thirteen episodes of Star Trek as Captain Kirk’s personal assistant. Her contract ended in 1996 and unfortunately wasn’t renewed, much to the disappointment of fans. Rand kicked on however, going on to have a successful acting career nonetheless. She starred in many films and television series, until she unfortunately passed away aged 85.

Kira Nerys – Nana Visitor
Nana Visitor achieved Television success playing Kira Nerys in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The American actress starred in the series between 1993 and 1999 when it came to its conclusion. Further acting roles include appearances in Family Guy, CSI and Frasier. She even made her way onto the big screen, playing a small role in Ted 2. She is well known to have suffered from claustrophobia, something that affected her on the set of Star Trek. Often she struggled to wear certain props.
