Using Milk Paints
The truth is that blue paints on ceilings used to be “milk paints.” They usually added lye into the paint mix in the past! The lye was actually what kept the bugs at bay. Milk paints tend to deteriorate at some point in the future to add extra layers now and then. By doing so, they are ensuring that the shutters and ceilings still had enough lye in them.
