Shawn Michaels Versus Bret Hart

In 1997, the tensions finally boiled over between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels after both had unsatisfactory discussions with Vince McMahon. Hart reckoned that the best way to deal with his frustration was to give Michaels a beating. Hart cornered Michaels in one of the dressing rooms and it took several wrestlers who were in the room to break off the brutal fight. Michaels was very upset that he charged into McMahon’s office willing to go back to WCW and quit WWE. Michaels returned to WWE though the following July after being given a leave of absence.
