Inner Conflict
Furthermore, regardless of whether the Devil exists or not, Sister Maria did in reality seem, by all accounts, to be a course for blazing torture. When moving toward the convent altar, she would supposedly yell and lose consciousness each and every time. She was evidently convinced that Satan was attempting to turn her towards evil, so the sister appeared to be racked with an internal clash that wouldn’t go away.
Unfamiliar Language
At that point, one day in 1676, the Devil himself assumed responsibility for the nun’s body – or so she asserted – and created a detestable letter she had no recollection of. The note did not use a familiar language, though, nor even a recognizable alphabet. Rather, its puzzling glyphs appeared to take after a tangle of old letters and mysterious images that no one could decipher. We wonder what the letter had said.
