John started working on the backyard, even though it looked like the elements were against him. The Arizona heat was in full force, and the temperature climbed to the three digits. It was not easy at all, but he did not give up on his quest to uncover the mystery. He was determined and hard-working, but he had yet to find anything there. Was the rumor nothing more than a rumor?

He went and dug four separate holes in the backyard, but they all turned up empty. Of course, it was possible that the treasure, if one could call it that, was hiding beneath the grassy surface. He also knew it was possible that someone got there before he did. Even though he could not hide the disappointment he felt, there was no way he was giving up. The next thing to do was to think outside the box. This was the moment he came up with a brilliant idea.
