An Extreme Decision

Nadya Suleman made an important decision in 2008, one that turned the happy mother into a celebrity. She was not contented with only six children, so she returned to the doctor who administered her previous IVF procedures. She asked Dr. Michael Kamrava for another IVF treatment. By then, she still had six eggs in stock, the leftovers from the previous treatment. Her pro-life stance took over, and she wanted to use all of them to avoid wasting the eggs. She asked him to implant all six of them into her uterus in one go! That wasn’t all, however.

More Babies?

In the beginning, Dr. Kamrava felt hesitant about the request. After all, he knew better than anyone how risky it would be for her. However, he did comply and implanted the six remaining eggs. It was primarily because of Nadya’s insistence that she would be fine if it meant multiple babies. However, the most curious part about the story was that he actually implanted twelve eggs, not six! This was ten times the recommended amount of eggs for the procedure. This was a big risk that would leave a significant impact, one way or the other. Nadya did not mind, however, as she was completely ready for the consequences of her action.
