As the interview was taking place, the reporter noticed how hectic meal time was, and he asked Nadya how cooking and eating as a family with 14 kids really works. Nadya explained that since there is so much going on in such a small space, they all have to eat in shifts. Sometimes while they’re waiting to eat, some of the other kids will hang out together on the couch together. We’re not sure exactly how everyone manages this every day, but we admire their teamwork and heartwarming love for one another.

As the New York Times reporter watched the eight youngest children moving around so smoothly together in the kitchen, he couldn’t believe how small they all are for their age; this is understandable, considering they’re octuplets! He couldn’t get over how the kids are so polite, saying, “they cook, they’re vegan, they read two books a month and do their homework without being prompted.” Despite the octuplets being in the spotlight, sometimes controversially, since birth, they seem to be amazing children and model students. We truly aren’t sure how Nadya has raised such incredible kids all on her own, but she’s doing an unspeakably great job.
