Even before the birth of the octuplets, Nadya was already gaining a lot of media attention. Her unbelievable pregnancy was covered by newspapers, websites, and news channels. People began to recognize her as well. Not a lot of people know her by her real name as she was commonly referred to as Octomom. She tried to take control of the story or what they reported about her. Among other things, she hoped it will help her raise the funds she needs to support her kids. She went through a lot of things to get here, so this was something she deserved. Nadya even hired some people to deal with public relations after she gave birth to the eight kids. She wanted to tell the public her story and gain some control over the narrative. However, it proved to be an arduous task.

The press attention Nadya received pretty much remained the same even after the birth of the octuplets. She still received plenty of flak from critics who accused her of being an attention hog. Some people even stooped low and accused her of only having the children to earn more attention. Aside from dealing with her status as a public figure, Nadya was also dealing with the challenge of raising fourteen children. As time passed, Nadya was finding it harder and harder to cope with the fame. Aside from the pregnancy, delivery, and rearing the children, some Californians even accused her of wasting taxpayer’s money. Others accused her of embodying all the negative aspects that came with modern American society. Can you believe that she even received threats?
