Joran spent two years in a jail in Peru on a 28-year sentence. He ultimately confessed to having murdered Stephany Flores. According to his lawyer, Joran killed her while undergoing “extreme psychological trauma” brought about by accusations of murdering Natalee Holloway.

Jawbone
Tourists stumbled upon a jawbone on the beach close to the Bubali Swamp and Phoenix Hotel on November 12, 2010. An initial examination revealed that it belonged to a young woman. Parts of the bone were later sent to The Hague so the Netherlands Forensic Institute could test it. On November 23, 2010, Aruba Solicitor-General Taco Stein announced that the jawbone did not align with Natalee’s dental records.
