The mother bear jumped right into the lake with her cubs, thinking that they would tag along. But as soon as they began to cross the lake, it became obvious that the cubs were unable to cope. It became clear to her that they were too weak for the journey, and the little ones held onto her for their dear lives.

You have probably witnessed mother bears make huge sacrifices for their babies including carrying them on dangerous terrains and protecting them from predators. This was not the case for this particular mother bear. After seeing that her cubs could not keep up, she let go and started swimming on her own! It might be difficult to believe that any mother would do this to their child, but remember that we are talking about the wild.
