Worried
The young man looked at Noah, who was still carrying the two plastic bags in his hand. Johal said, “Yeah, just need to get my daughter medicine.” He stammered, “It’s like I don’t have the money.” Although Noah hadn’t meant to eavesdrop, he felt like he had to do something after hearing the young man’s problem. Noah looked at his grocery bags and back to the distressed man. Pausing for a second, Noah said, “I’d be right back.”
Walked Away
Giving his backpack to Johal so the young man can watch over it, Noah walked away. Even though Johal didn’t know what the homeless man was up to, he still obeyed and placed the bag next to him. Johal noticed how tattered and old the backpack was. He reassured himself Noah would come back, so Johal patiently waited, but 15 minutes had passed, and yet there was no sign of the homeless guy.
