Many people don’t know this but Queen Elizabeth II actually served in World War II! She was just 18 years old and a princess back then. She decided to join the Women’s Auxillary Territorial Service. She trained in London as a mechanic. Elizabeth is actually the only female member of the British royal family to have ever enlisted in the armed forces.
