Cleo Odzer

During the late ‘60s, Cleo Odzer ended up in the groupie scene when she was doing a writing gig for a publication based in Greenwich. At the time, she reported on different musical acts and met Emerson, Lake & Palmer keyboard Keith Emerson at a club. That was the beginning of a romance that eventually led to their engagement. Odzer has said that Keith Emerson ended their engagement after he found an article that dubbed her the “Super Groupie”. It is a good thing that being called that did not affect her all that negatively. She even recorded an album called The Groupies, which talked about all the adventures she and her friends had with rock stars. She moved to India when her groupie days ended and passed away there in 2001.
