Eminem and Royce da 5’9 – Bad Meets Evil – EP Hell: The Sequel (2011)

This Detroit hip-hop duo’s album is a must for this list! Royce da 5’9 is “Bad” while Eminem is “Evil.” The two meet in 1997 when Royce was opening for Usher. The two became fast friends and collaborated on one track featured on Eminem’s The Slim Shady LP in 1999. The song was called “Bad Meets Evil.” Together, they have great energy and have incredibly witty lyrics. Over the years, the two continued to make music together and separately, finally leading to their album EP Hell: The Sequel. The lead track, “Fast Lane,” was recorded in Ferndale, Michigan and peaked at number 32 on the Billboard charts. The second song, “Lighters,” is more well known and featured Bruno Mars. It peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Top 100.

“S&M” in this case is an abbreviation for Symphony and Metallica. This is a live studio album by heavy metal band Metallica and The San Fransisco Symphony. This was actually the last Metallica album with Jason Newsted as their bassist. The idea to combine metal with a symphony was Cliff Burton of Metallica’s idea. The album was recorded in 1999 at the Berkeley Community Theatre and is definitely a gem!
