Standing at a gigantic 8 feet, Suleiman Ali Nashnush holds the record for being the tallest basketball player in history. He had been a star player in his home country, though he never played in the NBA. Originally from Libya, he grew to this height because of an overproduction of growth hormones but he successfully underwent surgery in order to correct his abnormal growth. However, he kept the height and took advantage of it by pursuing a career in basketball and similar to many others on this list, he also did some acting back in 1969, appearing in the Italian movie Fellini Satyrican. He is one of the top 10 tallest people in the world according to the Guiness World Records.

Aaron Sandilands (6’11”)

Australian sports star Aaron Sandilands is one of the tallest players in the Australian Football League (AFL) and is the heaviest, with a height of 6’11” and weight of 269 pounds. He isn’t only impressive in size, but he is also talented in Australian football. He had a lot of accomplishments and recognition in the sport, such as being part of the All-Australian team from 2008 to 2010 and being hailed as a compassionate and kind player, receiving the best and fairest award from the Fremantle Football Club two times. However, he has also had his fair share of injuries since the sport he plays is also a brutal physical game, suffering a collapsed lung and broken ribs back in 2016. He is a fighter though and he still played 2 of that particular season’s last games and he is still a big star in the AFL, showing everyone that it’s possible to be massive, talented, determined, and a good person too.
