Yvetta Hlavacova (6’5”)
Another swimmer with a grand height, Yvetta Hlavacova, isn’t a regular speed swimmer. A lot of people know her for swimming the English Channel three times, with an average of less than 9 hours for all of her swims. One interesting fact about Hlavacova is that she practically didn’t have a career until she did her English Channel swims. She had a really difficult time finding a swimming club that would accept her, probably because they were somewhat intimidated by her height, but she definitely showed them with her Channel swims! Her personal best is an incredible 7 hours and 25 minutes, which would surely convince any distance swim team to take her on.
Chuck Nevitt (7’5”)
This basketball player’s career was pretty long (12 years) but he wasn’t as well known and as successful as the other players on this list. He was still well known, though, because he is 7’5” tall and is among the tallest players of all time. He was relatively light at 217 pounds (for his height, anyway) and started out playing the game professionally back in 1982, traveling far and wide playing for Houston, Los Angeles, Detroit, Chicago, and San Antonio.
