Bat Bombs
Believe it or not, “bat bombs” were actually a military plan. Lytle S. Adams, an American dentist, forwarded his plan to the U.S. Army. He wanted to send bats – which could carry weights greater than their own – into enemy lands with bombs attached to them. The big idea was a no-go when bats destroyed a large part of an air force base when one took shelter under a large fuel tank.
Mini Tanks
The Nazis planned to send miniature tanks by remote control into enemy territory. Their aim was for the little tanks to squeeze under allied tanks and explode them to smithereens. The “Goliath” as it was called, didn’t turn out to be a great success. It was costly to produce, heavy, had a limited travel range, and was easily destroyed by light enemy fire.
