Lady Gaga’s Debut
Many other got to know Lady Gaga in 2008 when “Just Dance,” soared up the charts. However, Gaga was acting before this. Her very first TV appearance was in a 2001 episode of The Sopranos called “The Telltale Moozadell.” Gaga played a classmate of A.J. who breaks into school with his group of friends to vandalize it.
Real Life Consequences
During the episode, “Christopher,” Silvio is infuriated that a Native-American group plans to boycott the Columbus Day Parade. They get into the debate over whether Christopher Columbus was a hero or not. In real life, The Sopranos cast was originally invited to the 2002 Columbus Day Parade, but because of this episode, they were uninvited. In fact, Mayor Michael Bloomberg had personally invited both Lorraine Bracco (Dr. Melfi) and Dominic Chianese (Junior Soprano), but event organizers went to court over this. They claimed The Sopranos portrayed Italian-Americans in a negative light.
