Sure, no one likes traffic, but have you ever thought about how much noise it makes? Especially in L.A., traffic gets crazy and very loud! Well, that heavy traffic presented a big problem for Gilligan’s Island when they filmed at their L.A. lot. In order to avoid recording any traffic noises from the nearby highway, they tried to shoot lagoon scenes as fast as they could! What a challenge that must have been!

How does this sound, a free trip to Hawaii? Amazing right? That’s what Natalie Schafer thought, and she honestly decided to do the Gilligan’s Island pilot because of that! They shot it in Hawaii, but sadly, once CBS picked up Gilligan’s Island, they moved shooting to L.A. What an unfortunate location change for the cast and crew!
