The Who
Lead singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist/singer Pete Townshend, bass guitarist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon usually made the opening line-up for the London-based band. Despite having stopped and started multiple times, this group has been active again since 1996. “The Who” made one of their greatest impressions at the Woodstock Music Festival in 1968.
Nirvana
Smells like teen spirit, or maybe it’s this group. A wee bit newer than most of the names on this list, “Nirvana” rose to fame quickly between 1987 to 1994. Kurt Cobain started the band with bassist Krist Novoselic in Washington, USA. Even though they featured for a short period, they have made an imprint in the music industry as one of the most influential and important alternative bands in music history.
