Are you ready for some heartbreak? Joe DiMaggio was a baseball great who famously had a fling with the Marilyn Monroe. DiMaggio outlived Monroe by quite a few years, after the two had split, and apparently that never felt right to DiMaggio. On his deathbead, dying of lung cancer, DiMaggio said, “I finally get to see Marilyn.” He never forgot the beauty who would set the standard for greatness before rampant cosmetic plastic surgery.
