Alshon Jeffery, WR, Chicago Bears
Here’s the thing, everyone knows that the Bears are currently in rebuilding mode and everyone knows that Alshon Jeffery is going after a sizable multi-year contract extension this coming offseason. However when you look at his injury history and his recent suspension of four games after violating the NFL’s policy against performance-enhancing drugs, we can’t imagine that the Bears will offer him a long-term extension. Of course Chicago could opt to use their franchise tag on Jeffery for a second consecutive season but that would cost them a guaranteed $17,518,800 for one season.
Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, New England Patriots
If you know anything about the NFL then you know that New England head coach Bill Belichick is a genius when it comes to making well-timed personnel moves. While Belichick would most likely love to hold onto Garoppolo as Tom Brady’s backup, Garoppolo’s stock may never get any higher than what it currently is right now. Garoppolo has played exceptionally well during his two starts in place of Brady and still has one year left on his rookie contract. As there quite a few teams in the NFL who are desperately seeking to fill their QB positions, the Patriots could very well trade the young QB in exchange for multiple draft picks.
