Another legend of Woodstock was Janis Joplin. Her package got her $7,500. Her success in “Piece of My Heart” is what people recall best. Other tracks were belted out on the second day. They had all come in by helicopter. She instructed the other participants to act just as it was a normal gig. After the performance, she remained at the festival like the other festivalgoers.

A Surprise John Sebastian Set
The Lovin’ Spoonful was a rock band that was famous in the 60s. The original John Sebastian was not expected to appear at Woodstock. He went there to watch. When the organizers invited him to perform, he accepted. He appeared as an acoustic guitar player and played three unreleased tracks.
