Initially, festivalgoers had to pay a fee to participate, but they soon opted to forgo the entry fee until the event became too popular. Many satisfied people were in attendance for the event, and festival administrators found the attendance limits were unlikely. Many people anticipated 50,000 people to attend, and not many people really came to the concert. There were also stories of people wishing to participate who were unable to because of restricted space.
