Queen Elizabeth I
The ruler of England and Ireland reigned from 1558 to 1603 and was known as Queen Elizabeth I throughout that time. She was the daughter of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, his wife. Because her parents’ marriage was annulled, Elizabeth was ruled illegitimate. It took her a few years before she could formally ascend to the throne. There were numerous artworks depicting her appearance at the time. Mat Collishaw, on the other hand, decided this year to take matters into his own hands.
What Queen Elizabeth I Really Looked Like
When all was said and done, the project resulted in this hyper-realistic animatronic mask with an opening mouth and eyes that moved around the room. A chain connects this mask, which is on display in the Queen’s House, to a mirror. Across the street is the Armada painting, which depicts Elizabeth in her prime despite the reality that she was 55 years old at the time the painting was created. The mask shows the Virgin Queen as she appeared at the time. Surprisingly, it’s not all that distinct to the portraits!
