Giovanni Battista Sidotti
Giovanni Battista Sidotti was born in 1668 as an apostle and missionary. He was sent to Japan with the purpose of evangelizing the country. It was a dangerous mission back then. To persuade them, he appeared to be a samurai, but he was unsuccessful. They caught him and imprisoned him till his death, in 1714. He is often referred to as “the last missionary” or “the last missionary.”
What Giovanni Battista Sidotti Really Looked Like
His remains were discovered in relatively decent condition as compared to the remains of other historical figures. In 2014, they uncovered his remains while working on a 2 million-yen excavation project. Only because of his remains was it possible to begin work on this replication of him. The skull had been damaged, but not to the point that the forensic anthropologists working on the project couldn’t continue.
