Simón Bolívar
Simon Bolivar was a military leader who played a crucial part in the Venezuelan Revolution against the Spanish Empire. Born into a wealthy family, he travelled to Spain to study and ended up joining the Spanish resistance. After France invaded Spain, he became known as “El Libertador,” which translates as “The Liberator.” He died as a result of tuberculosis.
