King Henry IV
He was 19 years old when his father, King Henry IV, often known as “Henry the Great” or “Good King Henry.” anointed him King of Navarre. Two months later, he married his long-term lover. The city was flooded with demonstrators as they rejoiced, and the episode immediately became known as the “St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre.” He nearly survived and went on to serve in the French Court.
