Mary, Queen of Scots
In some circles, Mary Stuart is also known as Mary, Queen of Scots. She was the first woman to manage the country from 1542 to 1567. Her father died not long after she was born, therefore she ascended the throne when she was only six days old. She was sent to France as a child to grow up in the court of the French kings and queens. She returned to her native Scotland in 1559. Is this painting an accurate likeness of her?
What The Queen Of Scots Really Looked Like
Dr. Caroline Wilkinson’s 3D representation of Mary, Queen of Scots was inspired by paintings and drawings she had collected over the years. She also used biographical material to avoid utilizing stylized versions of her work. Although there are considerable differences between it and traditional paintings, we do not believe the appearance is much different. Her nose, if you ask us, is the one characteristic that has remained consistent throughout her existence.
